Berel grew up following Morris around and listening to him tell truth after truth, this instilled in him the idea that like Morris no one lies, and he therefore didn’t need to distrust anyone. Berel has a low opinion of doing any sort of work at all, unless its to impress a fair lady. He has little interest in court or fighting, and prefers lazing about the castle, letting his steward, Morris, do all the work for him. He knows this is unfair, but it would take too much effort to care.
